Urban Camping

We are moved in, but that really isn’t saying much. Day one, we had our bed set up (no headboard) and  our dining table. My husband had to put together our Ikea patio chairs for us to sit down and have some dinner (takeout, obviously) and a celebratory glass of wine.

After day one, we had visitors. Yes, multiple visitors. I warned them it was urban camping and they would be sleeping on an Aerobed (with headboard!) but they still wanted to come. Next time I promise to have everything a little more set up.

Speaking of furniture, I have made some fast discoveries…

1. Furniture is really expensive
2. Apparently you can’t just buy what you see at Crate & Barrel, you have to order it. My couch should be arriving in the next couple weeks. Thank the Lord.
3. Putting the ideas together in your head is exhausting and I feel this internal pressure to make sure it looks good.
4. Physically putting furniture together (I’m looking at you Ikea) is also exhausting.
5. I am struggling to find an upholstered headboard I like. Any websites I should check out?

So, right now the furnishings are sparse. We have a couple things on order, but we are also scouring the internet and looking for pieces to fill it up and start to make a home.

On the positive, we do that this bad boy.

I have been eyeing this crazy appliance for a long time….

Who needs a living room when you have this in your kitchen?

What should I make in my Vitamix?
